Larkspur Bar, Restaurant & Market Described as "Sex in the City meets Vail" in the culinary press, Larkspur was a labor of love for Chef Thomas Salamunovich, his Art Consultant wife Nancy, and the team at KH Webb. After inheriting a two-year-old, 10,000 sq. ft. failed restaurant space, Thomas and Nancy came to KH Webb with a vision, and thus sparked a truly collaborative design process. The resulting design became a "visual journey" transitioning from the subtle curves, colors and lighting of the entry to the serene atmosphere of the bar area. The bar itself was designed as an artistic, yet functional focal point; up-lit glass shelves and bottles provided a wall of color and light, creatively separating the bar from the dining area. The Dining Room doubled as a gallery space where the art included a 4,000 bottle, glass-encased wine room. Subtle burnished brass wainscoting was used to gently accentuate the rest of the dining area, leaving the main focus on the extraordinary kitchen.
Connected, yet more a part of the building's overall ski lodge décor, the Market was created to resemble the French Markets of the past where the breads, meats and dry goods become the decoration.
