Shane Residence Renovation "Our house is broken, can you fix it?" was our clients' request for this renovation. The existing home had a long history of renovations that had made it too "dysfunctional" for this young family's needs; and besides, it needed some "wow." With a tight budget and a great number of required repairs, our goal was to reconfigure the spaces to create an open, yet functional, design. First, a new arrival sequence was created with a backlit copper beacon, leading guests to a light and airy frosted-glass entry hall and sculptural stair. We then opened up the rest of the home to the spectacular views, creating a more natural flow between interior and exterior spaces. A new copper, slate and cherry fireplace was incorporated to provide an internal focal point within the new open and light family gathering areas.
