Vail Residence Renovation After owning a Vail Village penthouse for 25 years, our clients had the opportunity to own the entire building floor, but only after having made very personal improvements to their existing spaces. KH Webb was challenged to recreate or reincorporate these existing improvements into a new 2,400 square foot space, while still keeping with the clients' initial design sensibilities. The new design centered on a barrel-vaulted entry, progressively widening through a gallery of family history, and finally opening up to a Great Room and the extraordinary view beyond. Our clients' strong Scandinavian influences were reinterpreted into modern conventions with historical references such as folk art, ancient cedar trees, antique woods and finishes, and timber frame joinery. This radically evolved design seamlessly tied together our clients' past with the current and anticipated needs of their ever-changing family.
