Sakin Ranch and Equestrian Facilities   Built on a large parcel of land with sweeping views of the Aspen area, this home and ranch is truly one-of-a-kind; tailored to accommodate a wheelchair-bound family member, and to reflect the mission of this family’s foundation which makes ski areas accessible to persons with disabilities, we worked with the client to make this project as handicap accessible as possible. An elevator creates accessibility throughout the indoor space, while smooth wide ramps and walkways allow easy access throughout the surrounding grounds and gardens. From the work space in the kitchen to the wheelchair accessible herb garden outside to one of the most modern and innovative handicap compliant bathrooms on the planet, we obsessed over getting every detail right in order to make this home as functional and accommodating as possible for every member of the family. We also worked with the client to make all of these details as green as possible by using renewable resources, installing solar panels and energy efficient lighting, and recycling all of the construction waste; sustainable practices are prevalent in each and every detail.
