Sustainable Design

At KH Webb Architects we strive to create architecture that reflects not only a client’s personal style and vision but also the unique qualities of the land where it is built; architecture that is well placed in its environment is our goal. We believe that one of the best ways to achieve this is by implementing sustainable methods into every project, both residential architecture and commercial architecture.

Our relationship with a client as ìdesign partnerî begins early, and we spend a lot of time planning to ensure that every option, including those for sustainability, is presented. We work with a client to implement sustainable practices that fit with their personal needs, desires, vision, and budget; from something as small as using recycled building materials to something as big as installing solar panels. All green components are implemented seamlessly and are often invisible to unknowing parties.

While we believe in responsible environmental stewardship, the payoff for incorporating sustainable practices into our designs can be considerable for our clients. For example the use of an eco-friendly, clean-burning fireplace that uses technology from Denmark in the renovation of a Lake Creek home in Edwards, Colorado resulted immediately in a 40% energy savings. Similar energy savings have been seen in commercial properties as well with the installation of solar panels.
